BEST SKI GLOVES MEN'S & WOMEN'S SWITZERLAND

BEST SKI GLOVES MEN'S & WOMEN'S SWITZERLAND

Skiing or freeriding in Switzerland is top of the bucket list for many winter sports enthusiasts. This is more than understandable given the breathtaking panoramas from the Zermatt or Matterhorn Glacier, the glitz of St. Moritz or the groomed white expanses of the 300 km of runs in Davos.

Frequently asked "What is the best men's and women's ski glove for my Swiss ski holiday?" we've put together a list of the average coldest January temperatures in the country's main ski resorts, pistes and winter areas parks as well as our recommendations for the best thermal ski gloves for each resort.

Online guide - best waterproof ski gloves Switzerland

Our recommendations for the best men's & women's snow glove for skiing in Switzerland begin with Davos. With average January temperatures reaching a chilly 16 °F / -9 °C, the resort offers a range of skiing options from intermediary slopes in Rinerhorn and Jakobshorn for snowboarders. Due to its enhanced dexterity and ski pole griping qualities, our suggested "all-round" recommendation for Davos is the OSLOAlternatively, the HOKKAIDO mitts are a good second choice. This as ski mittens, in general, provided more thermal insulation than gloves.

Due to their altitude, Swiss ski resorts in general can have cold temperatures so we recommend layering up with a pair of glove liners and an outer glove overmitt for additional hand warmth especially if you suffer from cold fingers or plan to go off-piste.

Always remember to check actual weather conditions before skiing with a local resort guide or rep. If you have Raynaud's Syndrome, which is poor blood flow to the fingers and other extremities, then it is especially important to layer-up and carefully consider whether being exposed to the cold weather is worth the discomfort. As a general rule, snow mittens have superior heat retention then gloves as the fingers can better warm each other.
