The Kiruna is a handmade pro winter glove with a goat leather-nylon outer shell and removable inner fleece liner for separate washing.
The outer shell is made from a combination of high quality goat leather and 4-way stretch waterproof woven nylon. Goat leather is used for the full palm and back of the hand, which has additional padding for protection. The palm and inside of the thumb have double-layered leather to reduce wear and aid gripping.
The inner thermal fleece liner is removable for separate drying. Tested in northern Norway, Kiruna winter gloves come with a two year manufacturer's limited warranty.
The materials used to make the Kiruna snow glove's outer shell and insulated inner linear are best in class and have been selected to ensure the glove is comfortable to wear while also giving maximum dexterity and thermal warmth in cold weather.
Goat leather is a natural material with lanolin offering better water resistance and durability than other alternatives. The extra leather layering and padding on the front and back of the glove improve durability and impact protection. This extra leatherlayering further increases hand warmth and windproofing.
The insulating inner liner can be machine washed at or below 30°C.
The Kiruna outdoor cold weather glove has a gauntlet style long cuff, which is ideally worn over the top of a jacket sleeve. The wrist is elasticated, which keeps the glove in place and helps stop snow coming into the glove. The fleece liner is held firmly in place by a velcro strip sewn around the inside of the glove's outer shell.
Each glove pair has a hook-and-loop fastener for safe keeping. The middle finger of each glove has a loop from which the glove can be hung and dried. The thumb has a soft leather patch on the side, which can be used as a nose wipe or for cleaning ski goggles without needing to take off the glove. Improved grip thanks to embossing on the leather palm.
Suggested best uses for the Kiruna winter glove include but are not limited to strenuous winter sports such as off-piste or back country skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, mountaineering, alpine touring, skijoring and ice climbing. The glove offers good dexterity when freeriding treeruns and for gripping equipment such as ski poles, ice axes, dog sled lines or snow mobile tow ropes.
Suggested minimum temperature range for usage is in the range 14 to 5 Fahrenheit (-10 to -15 Celsius). Please note, this is just a temperature guide. What feels warm to one person may feel different to another. Exposure and carving time, perspiration and activity level will also impact the glove's performance.
